Application essays and personal statements are an integral part of applying to colleges overseas. While a large number of Indian students apply to universities overseas every year, only a small percentage are accepted into the top universities in the USA. One of the reasons highlighted by admissions officers is that students do not manage to showcase themselves effectively in their essays. Essays are meant to be the inner reflections of the student, and are meant to provide admissions readers with a better understanding of the attitudes, abilities and perspectives of the student.
The Learning Curve Academy conducted a college application essay workshop in the Utpal Sanghvi school, which was attended by over 100 students. Conducted by Binal Gandhi, the founder of The Learning Curve Academy, and Priyanka Bhatia, a journalist, the highly interactive workshop showed students the process of writing creative college essays. Students did exercises on how to select the key activities or qualifications that make them a unique applicant for the university. They also learnt how to highlight their key qualities and accomplishments in their essay.
The Learning Curve Academy will soon be conducting a College Essay Bootcamp in July. Interested students can contact us at contact@thelearningcurveacademy.com
