Albert Einstein is known to have found taxes more inscrutable than theoretical physics. He struggled to understand income tax. And if he had issues understanding it, well, we shouldn’t feel bad about being lost when filing taxes. While we can’t help him understand taxes, we can definitely put together a checklist that can help keep track of the necessary documents. Especially last minute, when most of us scramble to collect our documents, this list can be our guide. It gives us a broad sense of what documents we will need. Based on our personal situation, we may need to provide additional details, in which case we should consider consulting with our chartered accountant. But best case scenario, we may have just solved a problem Einstein couldn’t!
